Reality Check: The Game of Privilege

In 2016, after feeling helpless and lost at the state of American empathy, a friend of mine and I were inspired to act. Our goal was to show people how life circumstances shape your reality. What came out of this was Reality Check: The Game of Privilege: A board game about privilege and systemic oppression. After a successful Kickstarter campaign wrapped in December 2019, the product is slated to hit stores in Summer 2020.

Community in Quarantine

When Coronavirus hit, a colleague and I decided to host a call-in radio show. Every weekend during the lockdown from 9-11 we opened the phone lines to listen to the community and find out how they’re handling life in quarantine. It was my foray into live radio production.

Coronavirus quarantine: Everyone is dealing with self-isolation in different ways. KBFG wants to know how you are doing and give you an opportunity to share your story. What do you need? How are we going to get through this? And what's on the other side?

The Killing of Stonechild Chiefstick

On the third of July in 2019, my family and I visited the Poulsbo waterfront fireworks celebration. By the end of the night we were in the presence of what is an all too common American experience. A Native American man lie dead, having been shot in the face by the police in the middle of a crowded family event. Twenty minutes later, the same crowd who witnessed the shooting, turned around and cheered a fireworks show. This podcast will try to piece together the details of the event, make sense of the moment, and delve into people’s state of mind when witnessing an event like this. The podcast launched in July 2020. Find out more at stonechildpodcast.com.

Music

I’ve been playing drums since fourth grade. I’m currently putting that skill to use in three bands. Each one is a different genre (Blues Rock, Grunge, and Jam Band). Here’s a snippet of me doing my best Levon Helm impression!
